Valentina Stein is a researcher at the Rosin’s Visual Function and Rehabilitation Lab. She received a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Molecular Biology and Neuroscience from Dickinson College. During her undergraduate studies, she conducted research on the Inhibition of Oncogenic NRAS Signaling in Acute Myeloid Leukemia Cell Lines Through Directed Transcriptome Alterations, work presented at AACR 2025. Her experience includes a summer internship at Axent Biosciences (Bakar BioEnginuity Hub, UC Berkeley), where she led analytical development of stem cell differentiation for CNS diseases, and an internship at Gaia Health focused on key formulation experiments for long-acting drug delivery systems for women’s health. She recently joined Dr. Rosin’s lab, aiming to use gene therapies to reactivate dormant cones in rat models with Retinitis Pigmentosa. She will assist with animal surgeries and electroretinography (ERG), and will perform behavioral experiments on rats with optic nerve damage or inherited retinal diseases.
